My passion is health.

Health to me is about the freedom it brings that allows me to do all the fun things I love doing in life with the people I love......hopefully well into my later years.

I had always been active and healthy, thanks to my dance training and 20 years of dedicated yoga practice. But when I hit 40 my life took a different turn. I became a new mom staying at home caring for a young child, struggling with fatigue, insomnia and stress while balancing family life and personal ambition.  And like most of my peers, I started feeling that my life was slowly slipping away from me with the inevitable onset of aging!

What would my life look like in 10 years, or 30? What can I do right now that will allow me to age healthfully and gracefully?

I knew in my heart I wanted to stay active till my last breath. I wanted to die "standing up", like one of my friend's grandmother did! I chose to act.

I decided to take care of myself. I created a set of health habits I would stick to as if my life depended on them. I started running. I reinvigorated my yoga practice. I established a regular meditation routine. I enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and became certified as a Health Coach. I juiced. I learned to home-cook everything. I worked to get my sleep back in order. Still there was more. I learned to prioritize relationships, love, play and self-expression.

I will turn 50 in just a couple of years. Somehow despite the ticking of the clock, I am now feeling better and better every day under my own aging skin! Who knows? Life is full of uncontrollable events and mysterious mishaps. All I can do is to acquire as many health tools as I can and train myself to be more resilient in the years to come.
